{"id":44,"date":"2006-07-12T13:25:23","date_gmt":"2006-07-12T11:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hackenberger.at\/wordpress\/?page_id=44"},"modified":"2006-07-12T13:43:05","modified_gmt":"2006-07-12T11:43:05","slug":"how-to-configure-ubuntu-dapper-to-use-network-manager-with-the-madwifi-drivers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hackenberger.at\/blog\/linux-guides\/guides-for-ubuntu-dapper\/how-to-configure-ubuntu-dapper-to-use-network-manager-with-the-madwifi-drivers\/","title":{"rendered":"Network-manager with madwifi cards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Instructions how to configure Ubuntu Dapper to use network-manager with the madwifi drivers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First download the following files:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hackenberger.at\/ubuntu_guides\/madwifi-ng-r1531-20060427.tar.bz2\">madwifi-ng-r1531-20060427.tar.bz2<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hackenberger.at\/ubuntu_guides\/dhcdbd_1.10-0ubuntu12_i386.deb\">dhcdbd_1.10-0ubuntu12_i386.deb<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hackenberger.at\/ubuntu_guides\/wpasupplicant-madwifi-hack.deb\">wpasupplicant-madwifi-hack.deb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unpack the madwifi source:<br \/>\n# tar xjf madwifi-ng-r1531-20060427.tar.bz2<br \/>\nCompile and install the drivers:<br \/>\n# cd madwifi-ng-r1531-20060427<br \/>\n# make<br \/>\n# sudo make install<br \/>\nIt will prompt you to remove the old drivers from the ubuntu packages. You should answer &#8220;r&#8221;. Make sure that the script installed the files to the right directory (should be something like \/lib\/modules\/2.6.15-22-386, depending on the output of &#8220;uname -r&#8221;).
